The short answer

What is Rankbox Auto-Publishing?

Rankbox Auto-Publishing is the step that moves finished articles from Rankbox onto your website on a schedule. You choose a pace, from one article a week to one a day, up to 30 a month on the Business plan. Each article is written, checked against Rankbox's SEO rules and revised where it fails, then made available to your site through the Rankbox publishing API, which any stack can pull from. Native Shopify, Webflow, and Framer connectors are built and awaiting marketplace approval.

Rules it follows

Your site, your rules

Three rules decide what reaches your site, and when.

01

Your edits win

Rankbox never overwrites a post you've changed. The Webflow and Shopify connectors stop updating a post once you edit or delete it in your CMS, and never re-create one you removed. Through the API, your code decides what to update.

02

Checked before it's finished

Each draft is scored against Rankbox's SEO checks, from keyword placement to meta description length, and revised where it fails.

03

Paced and capped

Choose every day or a few a week. Autopilot never writes past your plan's 30 articles a month, and you can pause it from the dashboard at any time.

From pace to page

Three steps, then it runs on its own

  1. 1

    Set your pace

In Settings, choose every day or 1 to 5 articles a week. Your calendar fills with topics from your content plan.

  2. 2

    Rankbox writes and checks

When an article is due, Rankbox researches the topic, writes it in your brand voice, and runs it through the SEO checks.

  3. 3

    Your site gets it

Your site pulls it through the publishing API and reports the live URL, or a native connector pushes it where one is available.

The last step in the loop

Auto-Publishing is the last step. Drafts from the Citation-Ready Writer, checked by the SEO/GEO Score, reach your site here. The live URL your site reports back is how Authority Backlinks verifies the links your articles host, which earns the credits that buy links to you.

FAQ

Questions about auto-publishing

Today any site can receive articles through the Rankbox publishing API, which a developer connects once with an API key. Native Shopify, Webflow, and Framer connectors are built and awaiting marketplace approval. WordPress and Square are planned.

Not directly yet. A WordPress plugin is planned. Until it ships, a developer can connect any WordPress site to the Rankbox publishing API, which returns each article as HTML and Markdown with its title, slug, meta description, and tags.

As often as you set: every day, or 5, 3, 2, or 1 article a week. The Business plan covers 30 articles a month, which is about one a day, and autopilot stops when the month's articles are used. There's no time-of-day setting.

Rankbox doesn't have an approval queue of its own yet. Every article sits in your Rankbox dashboard, where you can read and edit it. Through the API, nothing goes live until your site's code publishes it. The Webflow connector can send articles to drafts and the Shopify connector can add them hidden, so you can review them in your CMS first.

Your edit stays. The Webflow and Shopify connectors keep a record of each post they create. If you edit or delete that post in your CMS, Rankbox leaves it alone from then on and never re-creates a post you deleted. A post's URL slug is also kept once it's created, so links to it don't break.

No, not yet. Rankbox doesn't send images or a featured image. The writer marks where images belong in the Rankbox editor, but those notes don't leave Rankbox, so you can add your own images in your CMS.

Each article comes back with an id, title, slug, meta description, body as both HTML and Markdown, tags, SEO score, the live URL once you report it, and timestamps. List articles with GET /api/public/v1/articles?since= to fetch only what changed, and report where an article went live with PATCH /api/public/v1/articles/:id. Requests use a per-site API key in the Authorization header.

Yes. The 7-day free trial includes 7 articles and the publishing API. A card is required to start it, as the last step of setup. To verify your card we place a $1 hold and release it right away, so nothing is charged when the trial starts. You're charged $49.50/month 7 days after you start, unless you cancel first.
