Studio: run several sites
How Studio adds extra sites to one Rankbox account at $49.50 a month each, with prorated charges, per-site allowances, switching, removal and restore.
On this page
Studio lets one Rankbox account run more than one site, for agencies and founders with several brands. Each extra site costs $49.50 a month on the same invoice as your plan and gets the full plan of its own: 30 articles, 30 backlink credits and 30 Reddit reply credits a month, with its own research, content plan, autopilot and publishing key.
Studio at a glance
| Item | Rule |
|---|---|
| Price per extra site | $49.50 a month |
| What each site gets | 30 articles, 30 backlink credits and 30 Reddit reply credits a month |
| First charge | The site's share of the current billing period, charged when you add it |
| Billing | One subscription, one invoice, one card for the plan and every site |
| Requirement | A paid, current plan that isn't set to end |
| Removing a site | Runs to the end of the period you've paid for, then is archived. No refund |
| Archived sites | Every article, keyword and setting is kept |
| Restoring a site | Charged like adding a new site |
| Your plan's own site | Covered by the plan. It can't be removed on its own |
There's no limit in Rankbox on how many Studio sites an account can run. Each one is one more $49.50 unit on the Studio line of your subscription.
What Studio adds to your account
Your account has one login and one subscription. The site you set up in onboarding is your plan's own site, covered by the $49.50 plan. Every site you add through Studio is a Studio site, billed as its own line on the same subscription.
Each site is separate inside Rankbox:
- Its own brand, writing settings, autopilot pace and content plan.
- Its own article, backlink and Reddit credit balances.
- Its own publishing connections and REST API keys.
- Its own backlink exchange profile and Reddit Presence settings.
Studio, Plan & Billing and the Account section of Settings are account-wide. Everything else in the dashboard shows one site at a time.
Who can use Studio
Studio adds sites only to a plan that is paid, current and not ending. When it can't take a site, the Studio page shows why and the one thing that fixes it.
| Your plan | What Studio says | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| No plan | "Studio adds sites to a paid plan" | Start the trial, then the paid plan |
| Free trial | "Studio opens with your first paid invoice" | Click Start paid plan now |
| Payment due | "Your last payment didn't go through" | Update your card in Plan & Billing |
| Set to end | "Your plan is set to end" | Resume the plan in Plan & Billing |
| Ended | "Your plan isn't active" | Restart the plan in Plan & Billing |
Studio during the free trial
The free trial covers one site. To add sites during the trial, convert to the paid plan on the spot:
- Open Dashboard → Studio.
- Click Start paid plan now.
- Read the confirmation. It says your trial ends now, your card is charged $49.50 for your first month, and the plan renews monthly from today.
- Click Start plan · $49.50.
If the charge goes through, you get the full Business allowance straight away and Studio opens. If it doesn't, nothing changes and you stay on the trial. Studio never extends the trial itself to more sites.
Add a site
Adding a site takes the same three steps as onboarding, so a client site starts as well set up as your own. The price appears once, at the end, before anything is charged.
- Open Dashboard → Studio and click Add a site. You can also open the site switcher and choose Add another site (Add a site once you run more than one).
- Enter the site's address. Rankbox reads the site and fills in its brand name, description and logo. Fix anything that's off, then continue.
- On Pick the searches to win, review the keywords Rankbox found for the site and choose the ones to target.
- On Your first month of content, review the planned articles, then click Review & add site.
- Check the numbers in the Add {site} to Studio dialog.
- Click Add site · $X, where $X is the amount due today.
Once the payment goes through, the site is live: Rankbox saves its content plan, opens its Overview, and confirms "{site} is live in Studio." Its planned articles are queued for autopilot.
Your progress through these steps is saved in your browser, so you can leave and come back. A domain that's already on your account, live or archived, can't be added a second time.
What the price check shows
The dialog gets every number from Stripe's own preview, so the amount on the button is the amount charged.
| Line | What it means |
|---|---|
| Due today | The site's share of the days left until your next renewal |
| Then | $49.50/month, on the same invoice as your plan, renewing together |
| New monthly total | The Business plan plus every Studio site, including this one |
| The full plan, for this site | 30 articles, 30 backlink credits and 30 Reddit replies a month. If the site starts part-way through a period, the reduced first allowance shows as "N until {date}" |
| Card | The card that will be charged, for example "Charged to Visa ending 4242." |
If the payment fails
Nothing is created unless the charge goes through.
- Declined card: the dialog shows "Your card was declined" with the bank's reason. No site is created. Update the card in Plan & Billing and try again.
- Unknown outcome (a timeout): the dialog says "We couldn't confirm the payment. If it went through, the site will appear in Studio within a few minutes." If the charge went through, the site appears on its own. If it didn't, the unpaid site is discarded and nothing is charged.
- Paid, but the plan didn't save: the add-site page shows "{site} is paid for and in Studio. Finish its plan to start publishing." Click Finish setup. It saves the plan without charging again.
How Studio sites are billed
- Prorated first charge. Adding a site charges its share of the current period at once.
- Same invoice from then on. From the next renewal, each Studio site is $49.50 a month on the plan's invoice.
- One renewal date. Every site renews on the plan's date.
For example, a Business plan with two Studio sites costs $49.50 + 2 × $49.50 = $148.50 a month. The Studio page shows this as Monthly total, and Plan & Billing shows it as the Next invoice.
Each site's allowance
Every Studio site gets the full plan allowance each period: 30 articles, 30 backlink credits and 30 Reddit reply credits. They're the site's own and can't be moved between sites.
A site added part-way through a period gets a prorated first allowance. It's the share of the period left when billing began, rounded up, and never less than 1. With half the period left, the site starts with 15 articles, 15 backlink credits and 15 Reddit reply credits. From the next renewal, it gets the full 30 of each.
Switch between sites
The site switcher sits at the foot of the sidebar, above the account. It shows the site you're on; click it to see Your sites, every live site with your plan's own site first.
- Choose a site to open it on the page you're already on.
- Studio overview opens the Studio page.
- Add a site (or Add another site) starts adding one.
The site you're viewing is carried in the address bar as ?site= followed by the site's id. Your plan's own site has no site parameter. This means a refresh, a bookmark or a shared link opens the same site, and two browser tabs can show two different sites. A link to a site that has left Studio, or isn't on your account, opens your plan's own site instead.
On the Studio page, each site card shows its articles this cycle, how many are published and queued, and its autopilot state. The card's menu has Open overview, Open articles, Site settings and, for Studio sites, Remove from Studio… or Keep this site.
Remove a site
You can remove a Studio site from the Studio page or from Settings.
- On the site's card in Dashboard → Studio, open the menu and choose Remove from Studio…. Alternatively, switch to the site and use Settings → Studio → Remove from Studio….
- Read the dialog. It confirms the site keeps running until the end of the current period, that you stop paying $49.50 a month for it from your next invoice, and that the current period isn't refunded.
- Click Remove on {date}.
Until that date, the site keeps working exactly as before: articles, autopilot, backlinks and Reddit. Every page of the site shows a notice, "{site} leaves Studio on {date}," with a Keep this site button.
Keep a site you scheduled for removal
Click Keep this site on the notice, on the site's card, or in Settings → Studio before the date. The current period is already paid for, so nothing is charged until the next normal invoice.
When a removed site leaves
On the removal date, the site is archived:
- It moves to the Archived list on the Studio page and leaves the site switcher.
- Its articles, keywords and settings are kept. Articles already published stay on its website.
- Its API keys stop syncing, and API calls for it return
402with the codesubscription_required. - In the backlink exchange, its live links stay live and its credits are held. Your other sites keep trading.
If you cancel your whole plan, every Studio site is archived when the plan ends.
Restore an archived site
- Open Dashboard → Studio and find the site under Archived.
- Click Restore · $49.50/mo.
- Check the numbers in the Restore {site} dialog. It's the same price check as adding a site.
- Click Restore site · $X.
A restored site comes back with every article, keyword and setting it had. It's charged like a new site: its share of the current period today, then $49.50 a month. Its first allowance is prorated from the moment it was restored.
Rules that apply to you, not to each site
A few rules follow the person who owns the account, however many sites they run:
- Backlink exchange: your sites never trade links with each other, and one article never carries links to two sites of the same owner. The exchange only links you with other members, because links between sites you own would form a private link network.
- Reddit Presence: you can have one standing reply per Reddit thread, across all your sites. One Reddit account posting twice in a thread for two brands is the pattern that gets accounts actioned.
Your plan's own site
Your plan's own site is the plan itself. It can't be removed from Studio or archived on its own. Settings → Studio describes it as "Covered by your plan." To stop it, cancel your plan in Plan & Billing, which ends every site with it.
